Managing Consultant

We are looking to add to our team of wireless experts at the Managing Consultant level

What we are looking for

We are looking to add to our team of wireless experts at the Managing Consultant level. That requires somebody who is capable of leading complex projects, able to operate comfortably at all levels including C-level, whether that is setting out a technical strategy for the CTO or explaining how network costs will vary with coverage obligations to the CFO. You will need to be able to explain complex ideas in language appropriate to your audience. You will ensure that projects are delivered on time and to budget and of course to the highest level of quality and you will play a large part in delivering the project using your wireless expertise to guide the project team, undertake work packages yourself and take the client with you. So this is a very hands on role. And when projects take an unexpected turn, as they sometimes do, you will need to adapt quickly, refocus and move forward.

Your experience

You will have first class English language written and oral skills and will take responsibility for project reports and project presentations. You will be a good presenter, able to think on your feet, come across as confident and able to clearly articulate your rationale under pressure.

You will also be expected to speak at conferences and represent the company in various platforms, putting the Real Wireless independent view forward. This is a part of promoting Real Wireless and gaining new business and you should also be capable of identifying opportunities and qualifying them as appropriate.

You will need significant experience and expertise in various aspects of wireless networks, particularly mobile networks, including: spectrum, network dimensioning, the practicalities of network deployments and sites, network costing, performance and quality of experience, standards, the role of tower companies and neutral hosts, small cells, indoor coverage solutions, use case development, fixed/mobile convergence and smart cities.

You could currently be employed by another provider of similar advisory services, or a regulator, equipment vendor, tower company or a major user of wireless services.

We promise a varied and intellectually challenging role as part of a small closely knit team. We are a virtual company, meaning we do not have an office, instead we work from home or (during normal times) the client’s office – so you will need to be comfortable with that modus operandi. We also (during normal times) meet regularly, as a team, to share knowledge, learnings and of course to have a bit of a laugh!
