Adrian Grilli
BSC CEng FIMechE MIET Utilities Telecoms ExpertAdrian has spent over 30 years in telecommunications, specialising in utility radio systems. For the majority of this time, he was Managing Director of an energy industry spectrum management organisation, also acting as Technology Adviser to a European Utilities Telecoms Trade Association.
Adrian has been a regular speaker at international utility telecoms events, and co-authored many papers on various aspects of utility telecommunications. He is also a joint author of a recent book entitled ‘Utilities and Telecommunications in a Nutshell’.
Before concentrating on utility telecommunications, he held a wide variety of technical posts in UK government concentrating on standards, regulation, policy and strategy, including representing the UK in European and other international organisations. His interest in these fields continues through participation in the work of ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) and 3GPP (Third Generation Partnership Project).
Adrian is currently the Rapporteur for utility telecommunications in the International Telecommunication Union’s Radiocommunications Sector (ITU-R) Study Group 5 activities.
Outside of utility telecommunications, he is a sound engineer for live music events and has provided propagation advice for a sound broadcasting radio station.
